Professor O’Meally - Romare Bearden: A Black Odyssey Gallery Talk

CCOA is joining forces with Emory University’s Michael C. Carlos Museum.  In this exhibit, the modernist/postmodernist artist Bearden invites us to look again, and to reread Homer—to see women of power, ancient to the future.  Dr. Robert O’Meally, Zora Neale Hurston Professor of English and Comparative Literature and founder and former director of the Center for Jazz Studies at Columbia University, and curator of the exhibition, explores these feminist themes in a lecture.  Prof. O’Meally will host a private reception and tour for CCOA Members.
