Did you know that the largest Hindu Mandir (temple) in the US is in Lilburn, GA? Join us at 10:30am Saturday morning on July 29 for a guided tour of this awe-inspiring masterpiece of exquisite Indian design and workmanship, witness the Arti ceremony and learn about one of the world’s oldest living faith – Hinduism. More than 34,000 individual stone pieces were carved by hand in India, shipped to the US, and assembled in Lilburn like a giant jigsaw puzzle. The Mandir is completely etched with intricate carvings, depicting a mosaic of tales of inspiration, devotion, and historic figures from Hinduism. One of the highlights of the visit, the Arti ceremony is an ancient Hindu offering made by waving lighted wicks before the sacred images to the accompaniment of a musical prayer. For those with a bit more time to spare, we'll be heading to the nearby Shalimar Kabab House for lunch afterward.
