She Opened the Door started in 2018 as a historic conference organized by Columbia University to celebrate women's achievements. The name derives from the incredible story of Winifred Edgerton Merrill, the first woman to receive a graduate degree from Columbia; opening the door for women to gain admission to CU's graduate and professional schools at a time when co-education for women was under heavy debate.
Join us for breakfast at Mend Coffee and Goods to mingle, network, and learn about the She Opened the Door community. Co-chair Kate Konecny Pope (SPS '13) will welcome everyone and provide an overview of SOTD along with upcoming community events and news.
