She Opened the Door

The She Opened the Door: Columbia University Women's Conference initiative began in 2018, a tribute to Winifred Edgerton Merrill, the first woman to receive a degree from University. It aims to "enlighten, educate, elevate and to empower" Columbia women. At this CCOA event, we will discuss the rise to prominence of Columbia women here in Atlanta, the experiences, the challenges and the achievements. The format is a panel discussion followed by Q&A. Jovita Moore '90JRN (WSB-TV Channel 2), Rickey Bevington '01BC (Georgia Public Broadcasting) and Roxann Smithers '99CC '02LAW (Smithers + Ume-Nwagbo, LLC) are our panelists and E.J.-Francois '91JRN (CNN) will moderate. All are invited to come and join us for a very informative and enlightening evening.
